Buyer Protection Policy & Quality Guarantee

Last Updated: July 2026 • Sariya Bazar Verified Procurement Standards

1. 100% Anti-Counterfeit Steel Guarantee

At Sariya Bazar, safeguarding structural integrity is our highest operational commitment. Procurement of steel rebar (sariya) involves substantial financial investment, and using sub-standard, un-tested, or counterfeit steel poses grave risks to human safety and building longevity.

Zero-Tolerance Counterfeit Policy: Every metric ton of TMT steel sourced through Sariya Bazar's verified dealer network must carry clear, unbroken manufacturer brand embossing, grade designation (Fe 500 / Fe 500D / Fe 550D), size markings, and valid BIS ISI license numbers stamped along the bar at regular intervals.

If any delivered truck contains un-embossed, re-rolled scrap steel, or material where the physical brand does not match the issued invoice, the buyer holds the immediate right to reject the delivery on-site without penalty, and Sariya Bazar will coordinate a 100% refund or replacement from the supplier.

2. Weighbridge Verification & Quantity Assurance

Weight discrepancies between dispatch mills and site delivery weighbridges are a common dispute source in bulk steel trading. Sariya Bazar enforces strict weighbridge transparency protocols:

  • Computerized Weighbridge Slip: Every truck dispatch must be accompanied by a stamped computerized weighbridge gross/tare/net slip from a government-calibrated weighbridge.
  • Destination Verification: Buyers are entitled to re-weigh the loaded truck at a mutually agreed local weighbridge within 10 km of the delivery site prior to offloading.
  • Permissible Tolerance: A standard moisture/tare tolerance of up to ±0.5% is permitted. Any shortage exceeding 0.5% will be credited back to the buyer pro-rata based on the agreed metric ton rate.

3. Mandatory Mill Test Certificate (MTC) Matching

For every transaction, the supplying dealer or rolling mill must provide an original Mill Test Certificate (MTC) corresponding directly to the heat number tagged on the delivered steel bundles. The MTC certifies compliance with Bureau of Indian Standards code IS:1786, confirming:

  • Chemical composition analysis (Carbon ≤0.25%, Sulfur ≤0.040%, Phosphorus ≤0.040%).
  • Mechanical strength testing (Yield Stress, Ultimate Tensile Strength, and TS/YS ratio).
  • Ductility and 180-degree bend/rebend test validation.

4. Escrow Payment Protection & Dispute Support

For bulk institutional purchase orders coordinated through our platform, Sariya Bazar facilitates escrow-style payment protection where funds are held in a protected settlement account until the buyer completes visual inspection, MTC verification, and weighbridge confirmation upon arrival.

In the event of a quality dispute, our resolution team initiates an independent third-party NABL-accredited laboratory test. If the steel fails IS:1786 specifications, the seller forfeits escrow funds and faces immediate suspension from the platform.
